Product Introduction

1、 Basic attributes

Geotextile Under Pavers material is a permeable geosynthetic material made of high molecular fibers (such as polypropylene, polyester) through acupuncture, weaving or hot-melt processes. It has the basic characteristics of acid and alkali resistance, aging resistance, and light weight. In the paving scene, it can be directly laid between the subgrade and the paving materials (asphalt, concrete, etc.), with a thickness of 1-5mm. It has a certain flexibility and mechanical strength, and can adapt to the complex working conditions of the subgrade base.

2、 Core functions

Load dispersion: Evenly distribute the vehicle load and rolling stress transmitted by paving materials to the roadbed, avoiding local stress concentration on the roadbed that may cause settlement and collapse, and ensuring the stability of road bearing capacity;

Interlayer barrier: Blocks the mutual infiltration and mixing of roadbed soil and upper layer sand and gravel/paving materials, preventing soil particles from blocking the gaps between paving materials or paving materials from leaking into the roadbed, and maintaining the integrity of road structure layering;

Drainage and filtration: Quickly drain accumulated water inside the roadbed through fiber gaps, prevent roadbed softening and frost heave (in low-temperature environments) caused by water retention, and keep the roadbed dry;

Crack resistance protection: Relying on its own tensile performance, it buffers the slight deformation of the roadbed (such as temperature shrinkage and ground settlement) from pulling the paving materials, reducing the occurrence of pavement cracks.

3、 Main features

Strong practicality: Convenient construction, no need for complex equipment, can be directly cut and laid, suitable for roadbeds of different widths and slopes, reducing construction costs and duration;

Good durability: Resistant to soil corrosion, UV aging, and not easily degraded or damaged when buried under paving materials for a long time, which can basically match the service life of the road;

High cost-effectiveness: Compared with traditional roadbed reinforcement materials (such as gravel cushion), it has lower cost and significant weight reduction effect, which can reduce the overall load of the roadbed and lower the frequency of road maintenance in the later stage.

Product Application

1.Highway/Expressway

Commonly used between roadbed and asphalt surface layer, water stable base layer: for soft soil foundation sections, laying geotextile can disperse the concentrated load generated by long-term vehicle rolling, avoiding roadbed settlement and road surface depression and cracking; In rainy or frozen soil areas, it can quickly drain accumulated water from the roadbed, prevent frost heave and thaw settlement from damaging the road structure, especially suitable for stress concentration areas such as bridge approaches and ramps.

2.Municipal roads (including sidewalks)

Municipal roads are mostly located in urban building clusters, and the roadbed is easily affected by underground pipeline construction and surrounding construction disturbances. Geotextiles can block the mixing of roadbed soil with upper paving materials (such as permeable bricks and concrete), avoiding road loosening caused by soil particle loss; Simultaneously adapting to the light load requirements of sidewalks, reducing the loss of base materials, and extending the service life of road surfaces.

3.Rural roads/low-grade roads

The roadbeds of rural roads are mostly made of locally sourced plain soil or simple sand layers with weak bearing capacity. Low cost needle punched geotextiles can be laid to replace some crushed stone cushion layers and reduce construction costs; At the same time, it prevents rainwater erosion from causing soil erosion on the roadbed, enhances the road's resistance to erosion, and reduces the frequency of daily maintenance.

4.Parking lot/park road

Although the load on this type of road is lower than that of a highway, it needs to cope with the local stress caused by frequent starting and stopping of vehicles. Geotextiles can cushion the impact of stress on the roadbed and avoid cracking of the road surface; If permeable paving (such as permeable concrete) is used, geotextile can also assist in filtering rainwater, prevent sediment from blocking the paving gaps, and ensure the permeability function.

Geotextile Under Pavers

In the core application scenarios of geotextiles classified by road types, geotextiles play a differentiated and critical role in response to the load requirements, roadbed conditions, and environmental characteristics of different roads. In highways and expressways, geotextiles are mostly used between roadbeds and asphalt surface layers, as well as water stable base layers. They can not only disperse the concentrated load of long-term vehicle compaction in soft soil foundation sections to avoid road surface depression and cracking, but also quickly discharge roadbed water to prevent frost heave and thaw settlement in rainy or frozen soil areas, especially suitable for stress concentration areas such as bridge approaches and ramps; Municipal roads (including sidewalks) are located in urban building clusters and their roadbeds are susceptible to construction disturbances. Geotextiles can prevent the mixing of roadbed soil with upper paving materials, avoiding soil particle loss and road surface loosening. At the same time, they can adapt to the light load requirements of sidewalks to reduce base loss and extend service life; The bearing capacity of rural roads and low-grade road subgrades is weak and mostly made of local materials. Laying low-cost needle punched geotextiles can replace some crushed stone cushion layers to reduce construction costs, prevent soil erosion caused by rainwater erosion, improve erosion resistance, and reduce maintenance frequency; Although the load on parking lots and park roads is relatively low, geotextiles can buffer the local stress caused by frequent starting and stopping of vehicles to avoid road cracking. If combined with permeable pavement, they can also assist in filtering rainwater, preventing sediment from blocking pavement gaps, and ensuring the normal functioning of permeable function.
